Gator - 24-09-075

Male Cat aged Teen.

Gator, born around August 8, 2024 was trapped, along with five siblings, as a feral kitten at about 8 weeks of age. Gator was the most frightened of a very feral group. Despite extensive work to get him used to people he is still incredibly shy. He is happy to be present in the household as long as no one tries to sneak up on him. He is very reluctant to be petted and prefers to dart away. He has become accustomed to visiting the kitchen when there are treats on offer, and will take treats from his foster mom’s fingers. He is always wary though, and prefers to keep his distance. A beautiful and big boy for his age, he will watch the goings on, and occasionally engage in the more exuberant play of his two brothers, but his usually defers to them when it comes to direct interaction with people.

I believe if Gator were to have a quiet home with a lot of patience and one on one attention he might be able to overcome his residual fear. He is a lovely boy and sometimes really seems to want attention, but he is unsure of how to approach receiving it. Our home is very busy and shy cats tend to get elbowed out by their more outgoing full and foster siblings. It is my fervent hope a kind, patient person will give this handsome boy a chance.

Three of Gator’s siblings have already been adopted, but he has two brothers still in his foster home. Dove and Minnow are nearly identical gray brothers who have made great progress.

Gator has received his kitten shots, his rabies vaccine and has been dewormed. He is also now neutered and microchipped. If you would like more information on this awesome gray boy, please complete a preadoption form or call Terri at (907) 245-1698 (this is a landline, so texts can not be received at this number.) Gator and his brothers are fostering in Anchorage.
